FWIW to install the front shifter ball cup from Carl First remove the old part off the ball then remove the front shift rod from the shifter.
Fit the new part onto the ball tighten the internal ball cup then lock it into place with the locknut and loctite blue. Once this is done then you have to thread the front shift rod onto the new stud and turn it in till the pin meets up with the shifter. if the trans is in neutral then position the shifter so its straight up. install the pin into the shifter handle then with a helper have them hold the shifter straight then center the front cup so it will allow the rod to go side to side evenly,
then lock it to the front shaft with the locknut.
This part is easier to install on the TT when its out of the car,
and is a PITA to do in the car.
Once the front coupler is installed correctly then you can make final adjustments at the rear coupler

One solution is after the Precision Ball Cup is over the ball and you have adjusted the drag on the ball, you should be able to get a whole nuther turn on the forward shift rod into the ball cup.
I do this by removing the shifter boot and the shifter, then I rotate the forward shift rod CW from inside the car to turn it in further. (Loosen the jam nut first.)

These pictures show what I can get it to do.
The first shows how much threaded area is left after the Precision Shifter Ball Cup is over the shifter ball and the drag adjusted and our large jam nut set.
You can see how much thread is available for the forward shifter rod. Quite a bit.
The second photo shows the shift rod threaded up, and the jam nut set onto it.
The small jam nut for the shifter rod is from the stock shifter ball cup. Remove it before throwing away the old shifter ball cup and use it here.

yeah after many emails between carl and i. i started seeing how i should have done it and had thought about doing but was trying to stay true to the instructions. i didnt think you could rotate the shift rod like that but as i see now i am wrong but thats why we are here. and for the guy advertising rogers shifter idk something about that set up doesnt sit right with me. plus my car is kinda iffy in the interior area and may just pull those two bolts out of the body hahahaha.

Nick,
Through your input I was able to look at our instructions with "new eyes" and see how they could have been better.
I have improved the instructions and updated them on our website here:

The Precision Shifter Ball Cup instructions are in the Service Items section.
Again, thanks for your feedback and input.
