Which would you buy - 88 5-speed or 93 GTS?

it all depends on what you want to do with the car.....the 88 5 speed is very nice and clearly well maintained..BUT if you intend to drive it, every mile you add takes a large chunk off its value, since it is such a low mile car.....
The GTS is already considered a high mile car (for normal cars, NOT 928's)....so putting quite a few miles on it won't hurt its value much at all.....
do you want to DRIVE it (all 928's should) then I would get the GTS.....if you want a concour-garage queen then I would get the 88..... Want both.....for 1/2 the price....then PM me and I'll put you in touch with the owner of my previous 88 S4 concour queen....last I knew 108k miles & nearly perfect in every way....

I would take the GTS, for the same reason I have a 150k+ mileage GT.... I want to drive it like a regular car in any weather, without concern about harming a potential collector piece.

Best thing I ever did was buy my GTS. It's the best running car I have ever owned.
A 5-spd GTS 93-95 is a rare, rare car. Buy it, drive/maintain it for 10-15 years and see what the value is then, bet it will not be below $30k.
The GTS you are talking about has had the same owner for 15 years 95k miles and he has all service records for his ownership period. It is obvious he really cared for and appreciated that car.

GTS ! i know i'm saying this not ever owning another 928, however this car is a blast to drive. you may be able to go fast in the '88 but in my opinion it doesn't look as good without that big *** for everyone to stare at. i can't imagine owning a 928 and not driving it no matter what year it is. i wouldn't make a very good car collector

See my avatare& sig photo...
If you want to drive it a lot (and you will) get the GTS.. After >10 years of daily driving its the best overall, best looking, best driving and most reliable car I have ever owned - very far from the cheapest... but

GTS! HANDS DOWN! I wouldn't change or mod a thing. I would drive it until death, then pass it along to a son or daughter, or if they **** me off..... I'd have em' bury me in it!!!!!
The '88 would be nice, but low miles makes a good 928 not. Life is too short to drive or collect an '88 when a GTS could be in your hands. I'd even go so far as to take a correctly repaired salvage title GTS 5 speed (in a color I like) over a low mile 88... But thats just me... Your opinion may differ! I LIKE BIG BUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE!!!!!!!!!
