Well, Jeff. That says a lot about your ethics. Rather that raise an issue with me about any problem with the liner I sold you, you saw fit to sell it to another unsuspecting 928 owner, although at a substantial discount, I noticed, and even then to an owner whose car it was not even suited for.

No, I am saying it didn't work for my particular situation. I offered it to someone at a discount rather than letting a part languish in a parts box unused. Big difference. No where did I say your part was bad or anything like that. Merely the factory part worked for me. If I had a big problem, I would have been a typical American consumer and demanded a refund. Huge difference. If it makes you feel better Jerry I'll buy the part back from the guy, pay him for his shipping both ways and ship it back to you and demand a refund like a Wally World customer. I didn't even need the insert from you. I bought it merely to support a local 928 parts producer (you) and ripping out a functional insert in the process. Your price was fair and the part was well made. I never once complained about any of that.
Something you are also not aware of is I connected another user with an 88 with the guy who bought the part off me in the first place who said he would take it if it wasn't gone. This way if it didn't work for the original purchaser he could sell it to someone who could use it and recoup his costs.

Jerry,
You chose to play the game by calling out our products - if you can't stand the fire do not come into the Kitchen.
Sorry to burst your bubble but you were quite happy to burst ours.
I did not ask you for free samples you sent them on your own accord. No where did you ask for feedback.
They are still sitting here on my desk. I did not like them because they did not look like the originals.
I send free samples to people all the time and only look for honest feedback not thanks.
Maybe if you had to pay for being a sponsor you would feel different about the whole deal.
Yours respectfully,
Roger

BTW, the contact for Jim the OP was given to Brad in TX before you told me I had bad ethics just so Jim wouldn't end up with a part in his bin he couldn't use if it turned out the part wouldn't work in a 79. Not sure how that makes me have bad ethics but hey I guess I could have just told him caveat emptor.

Roger, I have never "called out" any of your products, ever!

That stgatement and the one about having the three liners I sent you on your desk lacks credibility for me because one RL member reported that you gave him one of them.

Those facts, together with your statement that you "Had" to replace any of my liners tells me all I need to know about you.

And, by the way, I have both a membership and a sponsorship.

Jerry,
You are correct as I have two of the liners not three. Sorry but I thought I had all three.
Why do you hide behind your private avatar when you are a sponsor.
I don't think any of the other sponsors do that - however like me they have nothing to hide and are proud of being a sponsor.
I stand by my statements 100%.
End of discussion from my point of view.

Jerry, I never got one to try out, but I do remember that I said I was going to. I've installed about a dozen of Rogers new ones in the hatch mechanism and can attest that they work perfectly. Rog, send one of Jerry's in my box for the weekend and I'll install one in the extra receiver I have here. I'll put it in my car and give it a test run.

I also need a couple of window switches for Dirk.

Oh dear, another pissing contest!

Jerry you are making some great products, I have your spare tire cover. It fits perfectly, looks good and is an improvement over the stock unit and I suspect much cheaper than the factory unit which is a POS. I have not tried your latch reciever, but at a significiant increase in price over the original part why would I? The originals last for years and years.

I'm always looking for products that are an improvement over the factory parts, or significantly cheaper with similiar or better quality (IE Roger's motor mounts) or when no longer available from Porsche. Your wheel well liners come to mind when they finally become available. From what I'm reading in this thread and having met Jeff and being familiar with his issues, I don't think your latch receiver falls into this catagory. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts, move on.

Default Key Position wrong - A different Hatch Latch Problem??

I recently bought a 1984 S2. So far I've already seen some problems described here at this great forum! I also have a Hatch Latch problem

I've been reading through a lot of Hatch Latch Threads: Fails to latch, fails to unlatch, rattles, won't open, won't close, wears out, fractures, key won't turn, latch motor fails to run, latch motor fails to stop.

I have a different problem (at least I couldn't find a similar one). When I insert the key in the Hatck Lock it automatically turns left almost 45 degrees. In this position however I cannot remove the key!

When I turn the key vertical I can remove it, however the latch is almost half way opened in this position!! If I pull the hatch it opens, when I leave the key in the lock (turned 45 degree's left) it latches perfectly.

So I remove the key and the latch can be pulled open or I leave the key in the lock so it can not be pulled open

Has anybody seen this problem? How can it be fixed?
