Default Blower box flap reseal Who did it??

Someone on the board posted pictures and a detail of replacing the foam seal on the flap in the blower box, does anyone have the link to this repair??
This included pictures of cutting the blower box housing to remove the flap

Unfortunately I think this is where it's supposed to be. Looks like Herman references a couple of pictures in the post but the pics aren't there.

I did it and followed sharkskin's page: http://members.rennlist.com/sharkski...er-HoodPad.htm, plus some other threads from here and other sources. Not a hard job, just a pia job.

By the way, Dave's tutorial is for an 78, but I followed it and it worked for my 86.5.

this reseal of the flap was done on a later model possibly a GTS and whomever did it cut out a side of the lower blower box to remove the flap and the pivot pin, plus they had pictures

Stan,
I swapped the spring around in the passenger footwell flap to make the default closed rather than open. I then disconnected the vacuum line and plugged it. The thought is that I don't want blast furnace Texas heated air mixing with my AC cooled air for the cabin. If I want fresh air, I'll open a window or the sunroof. Is this what you're talking about?

I think I remember the thread you're looking for, but I couldn't find it.

I did find these, which may help:

It was indeed Herman on his '94 GTS - I did search and though the threads are there the picture links are not an longer active.

However I saved a .pdf Herman provided me from that thread - too big to post here - Stan PM me your email and I'll send it to you - It was mainly on the pollen filer though.

Here are some .jpgs though of the related evaporator cleaning/view on his GTS with Pollen Filter. You see blower is out

Herman could provide you more specific pics of the recirc box re-seal and actuator fix - PM him

Stan, perhaps you have found the link with the cut out blower box, but on the chance you didn't, I came across it as I researched what needed to be done to refurbish / clean the back bay components.

See Post #72 - https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-w-pics-5.html

Cheers

Stan,
Hilton Day, a member of Rennlist removed his dash and split the blower box to get at the seal between the two flaps and repair a broken lever on one of the flaps, IIRC. He took many great pictures, so this could be a great help for you.

If you cannot find it try and PM him and if you have no luck let me know and I will contact him on Landsharkoz.com.
