Too late to order a copy? I think I'll need 7.1 as well. I installed 7.2 on Win xp 32 and keep getting the hardlock error.

Has anyone identified how to get PET 7.1 working on W7 64bit yet.
(My XP laptop has died with a faulty main board, so I had to buy a W7 machine.)

I have it on my new-ish 64-bit Win7 machine by running it in the Windows Virtual PC emulator, downloadable from the link below if you're running Win7 Pro or Ultimate.

Hi Smiffy

Home Premium is the almost base version of Windows 7 and because you cannot run "Virtual Machines" in it, its no good for Pet 7 +

For that you need one of the two higher versions...either Pro or Ultimate...

You can buy an upgrade key that will turn your home Premium into Pro...in the Uk it costs around £80...and takes around 5 to 10 minutes... to install...

All the best Brett

I run a 7.0 on a Win7/64 machine. Updated to version 272 using a 7.1 installation on a Win7/32 machine. Did you know that you can copy the data directory? I never bothered to install 7.2 as for the 928 I would not expect any improvements.... or am I wrong?

Theo, I pretty much agree. I was able to get 7.0 to work on my Win7 Home 64b whereas I could not get 7.1 or 7.2 to load. Can't do any updates but for me that's fine for me.

Hi Sean, let me know if you'd like to go to update 272/73. That is as far as it goes for the moment.
Cheers, Theo

I have the disks.

Can't put a Home Premium Win7 in to XP mode in order for it to load up. Unless you've found a work around.

Smiffy, you can install WIndows XP on Home Premium if you already own a valid, unused XP license.

You need to install Microsoft Virtual PC.
