Default 86.5 vacuum modulator MB partno

Decided to replace the vacuum modulator on my 86.5, but cannot find the mercedes benz partnumber for it.

Does anyone know exactly which partnumber(s) I need? Don't know if the plastic pin is also included when ordering the modulator.

Thanks
Michel

You need 126 270 92 79.
We sell for $39.95.

Interesting that PET doesn't picture that part when you enter it, and it's called a pressure control valve.

@roger: You really sell everything

Going to replace the fuel lines next months as well, so you can expect an order from me shortly.

Does the modulator also come with the plastic pin?

The part number Roger gives is the MB part number and it is usually shown as such in PET.

If you go to a MB spare parts sales you will require to give the model year of a similar MB modle fitted with the 722.3 auto transmission. IIRC you can Google this transmission number and you should find out which MB car this model transmission if fitted to, however, support our 928 spare supplier, so this is just for information.

126 270 92 79 shows very clearly in PET illustration 320-1.

Last monday I was at the Benz dealership with my fathers SLK 55 AMG and I was talking to the parts-guy about the vacuum modulator.
He checked his inventory and had a brand new piece on the shelf for a very cheap 27 Euro, including VAT!!

I could not resist this offer so I bought the part.
The new part (manufactured in 2010) looks very different from the original part. Not only is the colour different (green instead of red/brown), but also the construction of the pin and cap is different. The new modulator does not have a rubber cap anymore, but a hard plastic cap.

They also lent me their set of gauges, so yesterday I jacked up the car and swapped the part.
Setting the correct pressure was very easy (adjusted it to 4.2 bar with vacuum line off)

The old modulator did not leak, but the replacement made a HUGE difference.
Gear changes are much smoother when driving normally and are nice and firm when going flat-out.

Worth every penny!
