Great news Greg! Glad I could be of help.
The pump does make some sound but it is not very loud. Standing behind the car it sounds like an electric "whirr" if that makes sense? How old is the pump and have you ever taken the tank screen out? Perhaps you have some debris on the tank screen that causes the pump to work harder?

Congratulations again, hope that is the end of the troubles and the beginning of many fun miles!

Yeah it does sound nice to hear it start.

More like a buzz or a humm then a hisss, but it does sound louder then before.
The pump is 7 or 8 years old. I've never cleaned the in tank filter, so I guess it's never been done.
