Default Idle screw botomed out

Tried to set idle with Blinkr and MAF set per Porken's instructionsat 382 ohms. Won't idle below 900. Idle adjuster screw bottomed-out with Blinkr in place as a jumper. Time for a MAF rebuild? Didn't have time yesterday to slap Don's MAF on mine - we had to bail to go see Asia at the House of Blues...great show.
Anyway - any suggestions? Sean...don't say vacuum leak...

Unlikely MAF.

Vacuum leak(s)
Bad idle control valve
Bad idle switch/wiring
Throttle cable too tight

Ken - by idle switch...do you mean the TPS? If so...just relaced and the Blinkr say its AOK...

The Blink'r shows the WOT switch function of the TPS, only.

Check if the idle switch is going to ground at the LH or EZF connector. Since you just replaced the TPS, I'm guessing it was adjusted too finely.

(LH2² EZF pinouts)

Note: you can also check if the idle switch is working with a timing light. When the engine is warm, idle advance will be ~10° with the switch working; >20° if not.

VaCuuM leak. I know ya love to hear that.

Seriously, I dunno, I'd have to look at it.

How about ya just get out and drive the F-n thing.

When you plug in the blink'r as a jumper does the idle speed change at all? The fast and easy way to test the TPS is in a quiet garage. Open the throttle by turning the linkage at the front of the engine slowly. Keep your head down near the throttle body. As soon as the throttle starts to move, almost instantly you should hear a distinct click. If there is no click, either the switch is bad, or more likely, it is not properly set. The click you're listening for is sound of the idle contact opening. It should open at less than 1 degree of throttle gap. That's the "idle switch" porken spoke of.

Idle speed doesn't change at all when using the blinkr as a jumper. TPS clicks like a dream. Sean's gonna guilt me into buying a mi-t-vac yet. In the meantime...I'm taking Sean's advice and driving the F-ing thing...vacuum check netxt wee-end. Gonna get a timing light as well.
