928 specialists have done a ton of R&D for a select group of porsche owners, made some amazing custom parts at good prices too. It's a hard road no doubt, and I know the blood sweat and tears involved in such endeavors. My advice: If your car is a daily driver, don't expect speedy shipping from 928 specialists to get it back on the road for your 9-5 job. Otherwise they would be called 928 Parts Overnight. If you can afford to wait alittle, have a good positive attitude, then go ahead and order from them.

Guy orders performance parts and the response is 'go to the ACe hardware store'? Eff that. He paid, he waited, not shipped, calls, still not complete. If I want that kind of service, I can go to any big airport and get in the TSA line. NFW I'm sitting still for +2 months for parts I paid for already. Do your damn job, I have to.

Default I have a problem too

I've owned a 928 for 16 or 17 years now. I ordered some parts from 928 Specialists and the damn parts got here long before I was ready to install them. Frustrated, I then ordered some more from Devek (long time ago) and they arrived just days before I was ready (whew that was a close one). More recently I ordered something from 928 Intl. Those clowns shipped the same day! What's a guy to do??? More recently I got a bunch of parts from 928s-R-us. Roger Tyson actually delivered them to our Tech Session and even helped me install them. I'm so fed up, I don't know what I'm going to do next.

Every vendor, whether it's 928 parts or washing machine parts has problems in house, problems with shipping, problems with employees, problems with their suppliers. They all deserve an opportunity to fix the problem. Sure if the problems continue potential customers will go elsewhere, but they deserve a chance to fix the problem.

Buck up kiddo. Ed MD gave you some great advice, take it!

Being a new 928 owner and having searched for info on OEM or performance parts, I have only seen a handful of vendors and this list as any beacon of hope. As Ed mentioned there are few people willing to build and supply quality products as a business for our cars mainly I believe because they love the cars and saw a way to help other 928 owners. I can certainly understand your frustration. Remember the vendors are also enthusiasts just like us. I'm sure they will make it right, if not you can choose not to order from them again. I personally have been in a combat zone and was promised many things, much of which didn't come to pass. I could either suck it up and drive on, or burn some bridges.
One team, One Fight to keep these beasties on the road.
Sorry I don't have any pics to post of hair and legs. I could post some pics of hairy legs, but I would probably go over like a fart in a divers helmet

That being said, I order sway bars about 2 months ago which were back ordered for approx. 2 weeks. Well after about a month and 1 week my sway bars arrive... late but still in time for my track day. Unfortunately they forgot to include every washer in the kit along with grease. Thankfully I noticed this before dropping my trans axle to install the rear bar. Naturally, I notify them of this problem and after apologizing, was told that the missing hardware will arrive in 2 days. As of now it has been 12 days, I have no washers or grease, lost the deposit on my track day and still have no response from 928 specialists.

Make no mistake, I do like 928specialists, there products are great and their staff is very friendly.... However this situation was handled like absolute **** and am very disappointed with the service. Maybe there should be a hardware list included instead of a bunch of items dropped on a bag...

on a side note, the new rear bushings included in the kit are too narrow and the i.d. is also too small for the bar. This means the mounts and will easily slide out under hard cornering conditions... I had to reuse my stock ones.

Hmm, maybe you'd get better service if you were Rennlist members.

I've never had any problems with 928 Specialists. I'm with some of the other regarding this type of thread. 928 Specialists have been around a long time and have a pretty darned good reputation around here. But nobody is 100% all of the time. Without Rennlist, 928 International, and 928 Specialists, I would have dumped my S4 long ago. Frankly, complaints about site sponsors from non-member Rennlisters here ring hollow with me.

Never had anything but good friendly service from 928 Specialists. Problem probably originated with the supplier and everyone being human, something slipped through the cracks. After 4 or 5 days I'd have been on the phone again and asked if that were the case. Knowing them they would have bent over backwards to correct it.

Mental deficiency!! Finally, I have a diagnosis!! Thank you ubercooper!!! It's so good to know that my problem has a name!!

Still - the distinction escapes me. And I'm calling you out because it sounds a lot like a typical passive-aggressive complaint... "I don't hate those guys, it's just the way the behave and act toward me that I hate." The aggressive tries to hide behind the passive, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

There! A diagnosis for you too!

Jeesh! why are you guys crucifying (sic) this guy. He bought something that wasn't delivered. It was a mistake on the part of 928 Specialists. He has a right to be pissed and he went out of his way to say that he likes the people at 928 specialists, just not the service he has recieved. Just because 928 Spec. are sponsors of this forum doesn't mean that they are above criticism. Vendors should be held accountable if they are slipping. It keeps the level of service high when they know that a big part of their customer base is paying attention.

And for those who think the vendors are doing this because they really like 928's, think again. Sure, they may love 928's, but money is the reason they do this. It's a job. Don't kid yourselves into thinking otherwise.

And there Fabio, you would be wrong. If it was all about the money I would go back to electronic engineering and consulting (what I did for a couple of decades prior to Motorsport) and easily double my income. I am sure that all the suppliers have suffered due to the economy but they are still here. There is a passion associated with creating/supplying parts for 928's, we work on more 996's than 928's anymore but I am still creating parts for 928's.

As I have proven to our resellers in our recent rollout of the cat back system, sometimes things are simply out of our hands. Tubing benders breaking and requiring maintenance, muffler suppliers not having things ready when they said they would. Even dealing with our bender having bigger/more profitable jobs to put in front of our project. There is nothing we could do other than apologize to our customers/resellers for things out of our control.

I don't know what the deal is with 928 Specialists in this situation but it's amazing how any one of the vendors can have 1500 transactions go perfectly and it's the one that doesn't work right that gets all the press. There are always at least two sides to every story and we have only heard one.

If it were me, I would have already been to the hardware store and the project would have been done. Washers? BFD! If you are worried about having strong enough hardware...simply go stronger.
