Thumbs down 928 Specialists... great people, great stuff, crap service

Before I even start to describe this situation let me say one thing. I have no problem with 928specialists, they are excellent people who have done nothing but help me with any issues with my car.

That being said, I order sway bars about 2 months ago which were back ordered for approx. 2 weeks. Well after about a month and 1 week my sway bars arrive... late but still in time for my track day. Unfortunately they forgot to include every washer in the kit along with grease. Thankfully I noticed this before dropping my trans axle to install the rear bar. Naturally, I notify them of this problem and after apologizing, was told that the missing hardware will arrive in 2 days. As of now it has been 12 days, I have no washers or grease, lost the deposit on my track day and still have no response from 928 specialists.

Make no mistake, I do like 928specialists, there products are great and their staff is very friendly.... However this situation was handled like absolute **** and am very disappointed with the service. Maybe there should be a hardware list included instead of a bunch of items dropped on a bag...

on a side note, the new rear bushings included in the kit are too narrow and the i.d. is also too small for the bar. This means the mounts and will easily slide out under hard cornering conditions... I had to reuse my stock ones.

Ubecooper, could you not get this from the hardware store. Washers and grease are common things. But I do understand your frustration.

1 hardware store trip +1 receipt = refund for parts + happy track day.

Guys, I don't think it's as easy as a trip to the hardware store.
These sway bars are engineered pieces to include their hardware, which most like need to be rated to meet functional demands.
OP may not be so inclined to make this determination, esp if it may void a warranty.
He needs the proper hardware from the source.
More than likely it's not necessary to post this here. With a little patience and perserverence, you could have this resolved offline.
Using this forum to leverage you issue is not cool, esp considering how valuable our vendors are to us.

Say you buy a car at a dealership, then when you pick it up the manager says sorry we forgot your tires but you can just go pick them up at a tire store.
If you buy a product you want the whole damn thing not a build it yourself kit.

I am not trying to leverage my issue, and I am fully aware of how important and essential good vendors are. I have been patient for 2 months and would have been longer if it wasnt for my attempts to try to resolve the issue offline. Since its almost been 2 weeks from when my hardware was supposed to be sent, I decided it was only fair that people know when a vendor handles a situation poorly. I stated many times that I have no issues with the vendor themselves, just the way this situation was handled and expressed my displeasure as such.
Reading and comprehension are 2 different things Jadz

also its spelled perseverance

I am starting to detest these threads, too.

ubercooper, I'm not saying you don't have a legitimate gripe, and maybe service from some of our suppliers is falling off a bit, but you just **** in your bed with this thread. Do you think it's going to motivate anyone to resolve your issue, which now would require turning back the hands of time?

You are saying, "I have no issues with this business, just with how they do their business." I don't get the distinction...

Gaz, customer feedback is important for businesses to maintain customer service standards. Providing a thread like this may just be exactly what some vendors need to get their **** together.

I am going to make a bold guess and say you don't own a restaurant, because if someone says my chicken soup is cold and it doesn't have chicken in it. I would have to say its in your best interests to make sure you remedy that situation quickly and efficiently

1. Thats your words not mine,

I stated many times that I have no issues with the vendor themselves, just the way this situation was handled and expressed my displeasure as such.
This means: I think 928 specialists as a website/vendor is excellent. However they screwed up this time by missing hardware and taking forever to ship it.
I have ordered many other things from there with no problems whatsoever.

Now if this takes any further explanation you are mentally deficient and I am wasting my time explicating this simple situation

..... also nice ***

I agree w/ the suggestion to go down and buy some washers and to have expected grease (and you probably expected the grease "gun" too) to be part of the "package" is a joke! Washers...yea, sure, they should have been included... Since they were not, I'd take the parts w/ me to the hardware store, find some that fit (for probably less than $1) and then install the parts and have a joyous track day!

clearly states in the description of the product on their site and in the directions for install that the stock rear bushings must be reused.

It is so sad when people can't or won't read the directions and then blame someone else for their ignorance.
