its nice to see a project like that, but it sure sounds like a flawed concept to me

A 1500 lbs "fuel source" doesnt make for a very good track car if you ask me. So it seems to be a bit of a confusing concept. Why not put the interior back into the car. The last thing its going to be is a race car. Keep the luxury at least and make it live able.

I like the effort, but i would go nuts having to get in that thing and drive it even to the corner grocery store. Looks about as comfortable as being strapped into a tin can. I bet its hotter than a son of a gun in there too, aluminum door panels and blacked out plastic cant be good for the interior climate.

I do think that its pretty cool that the home enthusiast is able to turn a V8 powered anything into a pure electric powered car.

Looks like it was at Laguna too??

I have ridden in an earlier version of Jeff's car...and it is NO slouch around town...in fact it could do very Bill Ball esque burnouts if Jeff wanted!!!

Hello all, just found this thread.

Lets see....The transmission gears have been removed and the main shafts shimmed.
It has no clutch or flywheel. I just use the synchros to shift between 2-3.

Now Ryan, its not so bad driving around town. I do have sound insulation and an interior. Remember I dont have the noise or heat from an ICE. so I can do with a lot less insulation. Oh yaa after nearly two years I did put a nice stereo in it , even though the weight of the subwoofer was hard to accept
The change to the Lithium pack has made the car a lot more practical. The interview was from Laguna Seca, which I drove to,70 miles their. I drove on the track for three sessions, charged back up for a few hours , then drove 70 miles back home. oh yaa, the last year I have put over 11,000 miles on it. Drive it everyday to work, home depot, grocery shopping. I have to admit to getting strange looks when I leave Home Depot with 2x6x10ft studs hanging out the back, but what the hell.
Its late Im going to bed

Jeff Mccabe

Thank you all for the kind words

And probably more torque than any other 928.... Dont need first gear when you have full torque at a few RPMs.
