NIck T , awesome data points, that surely took a lot of work to set things up.

my car brain pulls 6 degrees of timing over 140 degree F….so i am trying to get brain to see temps below this…..

I THINK I will focus as RKD suggested and just shorten the path to the throttle bodies….looking at the cowl now….

thanks for all your replies except randy and hacker of course !!!

There are pictures in "Project 928" that show some early 928 prototypes with air intake vents like you describe.

Shorten the distance you shorten the heat absorption while increasing air flow into the engine.

Just my opinion.

For a street car, I would not put in a lot of effort. For a track car, I'd be looking at air from the cowl windshield area as well as working on lowering under hood temps and insulating the whole intake path.

What might be fun with a efan, put a flapper on it so WOT it boosts intake pressure, and hard braking it vents to the rotors

Fill the intake path with golf *****. The dimples will increase the flow.
