charcoal canister system line routing in 1979?

Bump. Still looking for the answer to this.

The parts manual calls the line in question the air filter line yet the air filter parts page shows a cap on that side of the filter box. My quetsions are:

1. Is the "in" fitting on the canister for fresh / ambient air?
2. My car had a line running from the canister around the front of the engine and back under the car tie wrapped to the rigid fuel lines, hardly a factory looking solution! Should this line being hooked up to the airfilter port that is capped?

The lines inside my engine bay from the charcoal canister crumbled. Does one go to the 5 way connection off of the AAV? Pictures of these three hoses on a 1979 would be great. The PET is not easy to read for this one.
