Default 1987 928 S4 Blk/Blk Manual - Suggestion for updated Sticky

I was wondering after reading many posts and searching through the forum, if the Thread that new users are supposed to read before posting can include some more of the fine information found while searching.

For example:

Tool bag for new users.- A list of tools needed by owners to their own work and where to get them. ( I have seen references to harbor freight)

VW/Audi Parts that can be used on the 928 (keep seeing the overhead light and references to compatible parts.)

What parts can be found on Ebay/what should be bought from the Big 3. I have seen many posts that say avoid buying parts on Ebay and many that say Just look on Ebay.

Thanks

Charles

Ebay:
I only use Ebay for used/aftermarket parts, and only ones where condition isn't a big risk. For any serious used parts, I use 928 suppliers found on this forum. For new parts, I use suppliers found here. Its better to just support the vendors who know our cars, who have Porsche product, and who support the community with events and sponsorship
If you're bloody minded, you might be able to get one or two items cheaper from places like Rock or Vertex, but then you eat more shipping cost (esp. if international).

edit: You should have a look at the "Subscriptions" functionality here on Rennlist. Click on UserCP, and see on the left is a subscriptions entry on the sidebar. If you click "edit folders" you can add folders to categorise threads you want to subscribe to. I have mine set to add all threads I reply to in the "Subscriptions" folder, and then about 30 folders with between 1 and 20 threads in them, labelled stuff like Gearbox, Injectors, Intake, TBWP, Parts, HVAC, Locks etc etc.

Then for any thread you think "hey this is useful" you can click the "Thread Tools" drop-down, choose Subscribe, and assign a folder.
The links above I had already filed for easy re-reading

With basically 9 years of history and huge online following, most of it is here already.

Default thanks

Yeah I saw allot through searching and watching for new posts. Just wondered if it could be consolidated in the New User Stickey. Hilton left instruction on how to do it. SO I'm going to try it as I run across stuff.

Thanks
