No problem, come on down anyway, you'll just have to ride at the back of the pack.

Mike,
I am bummed - I have to go out of town that weekend, so I can't make it!

Oh crap! Well we're going to have to set something up so you don't have to wait another year to get down this way.

Let me know your availability and we'll put something together and if your plans change let me know so we can put you back on the list.

Thanks Mike,
I would say almost any weekend before it starts snowing, but that's how I got in trouble with this particular weekend!

I am going to be down at NJMP for DE on 10/15-16, maybe we can meet up after that on Saturday the 16th? Or better yet, why don't you register for the DE???

I did finally give in and handed the shark over to a new (to me) local shop that is going to do the belt and PKensioner... Haven't had much time to enjoy it lately though...

Steve,

Well I'm sorry you ended up taking your car to a shop but it's probably for the best. Trying to get me and Adam on the same weekend lately has been tough and I wouldn't want to tackle it alone anywhere but your own garage in case we needed parts or hit a snag.

For the DE: I would LOVE to do a DE but I'm suffering from a chronic condition right now: Mafundsalow. Whenever I manage to scrape together enough for a DE, I end up getting something else for the car (or one of the other cars).

Maybe I can get down there to watch you do it though, I've never even been to one and I'd love to see how it works. That will be the weekend after SATB so I'll have to see what's going on and maybe I can get down there on Friday.

Everyone else: Stay tuned, we're just a few weeks away and I'll be posting a list of the things we think we'd like to have like burgers and dogs, drinks, rolls and some salads so if you can bring anything just pick from the list or feel free to bring something else. There will be about 20 people there so maybe we can split things up and no one will have to bring too much.

Hey Mike, I was just reading about Bowden Cable adjustments and how they can make a huge difference in performance. Think that mighht be a good tech project for the day?

Apparently you need a couple of guys and the knowledge to do it correctly.

Just a thought, if not maybe someone can help me check mine anyway???

Mike - I think you would have fun, even if not driving. There are about 80 people registered so far, and there are all kinds of awesome cars there (though I have only seen one shark all season long...). I'm sure you could get a ride with one of the instructors too, if you're interested...

Hey Steve,

Well, we lost one tech session (the other Steve's cruise control) so I'm sure we can take a look at it. Adam's got an auto and I'm sure he's familiar with the procedure but if not we'll figure it out. Is there anything wrong with your shifting or do you just want to check it out?

Very cool. I'll definitely try to make it. I've also never been there so I'd like to check out the facility.

Mike,

Sorry my post was just a simple 'count me in'.
Can I contribute in any way? Food? Alcohol, Tobacco? Firearms?

My 928 is running well but am always interested in someone far more savy than me giving their opinion of her. I wouldn't mind a flex plate/shaft opinion (done last year) and someone to look over a detail or two and maybe drive her to formulate an opinion about whether the expected performance is up to snuff.

Glenn, maybe we can travel from the Leaky Valley together?

Anyway, I am looking forward to the camaraderie.

Best,

Allen in Allentown, PA

No Problem, I'll do a little homework on it beforehand and like I said, I'm sure Adam has already adjusted that cable on both of his 86.5 autos. We should also check the vacuum line coming from the 7-way connector in the valley going to the transmission. Apparently that has something to do with what happens inside a 'roger box'. I don't know, that auto stuff is all smoke and mirrors to me.

Hey Allen,

No problem, I'll be posting a list of things I think we'll want people to volunteer for and you can pick something from there or else just bring whatever you want. As far as alcohol, tobacco and firearms, I think it's just bring whatever you plan to use.

I'm sure there will be someone there who is familiar with the OBs and what you should expect as far as performance. Tony may remember what it was like driving his car before he supercharged it. If we can get to your flex plate without dropping the whole exhaust it shouldn't be a problem to take care of that but if we do have to drop it and you have any stuck bolts we may have to play it by ear.

As nearly as I can tell we are now at three cars to check/work on, which should be about perfect based on timing and space availability. Your car can use my OB liftbars if we need to do your work in the driveway or else we can just rotate the cars on the lift if it doesn't take too long. That part will be up to Adam.

Everyone stay tuned, I think I'll post a list of suggestions of stuff to bring sometime this weekend...

Ah! That stinks. I wish you could make it. Well I guess we'll go with plan 'B' for getting the glasses and other stuff out here. Let's see if we can set up a time over the next week or two when I can shoot out there and pick them up.

Hey Kieran, I was hoping to hear from you. Sorry about the crack about the burgers, they were actually done perfectly. I'll put you on the list.
