ART!

How's it going? Yeah it stinks that you missed #2 but you were one of the small group (4?) that were there at the first one. Now we've got sponsors and everything.

I hope you can make it. Let us know, I'd like to get a head count in the next few weeks if we can so we can figure out who is bringing what and how many burgers I need to prepare to burn.

Mike,

I was just thinking the other day that with all the NJ Rennlisters posting lately, a NJ GTG would be a great idea...thanks for putting this together!

Since I live right near the area, you can count me in for the AM meet up, and drive (assuming I get everything back together by then). Won't be able to do tech sessions due to a prior commitment that afternoon - bummed big-time. Looking forward to meeting you and the other 928ers in the area.

As far as checking the tension, sure no problem that's a quick easy check.

Other then that, I need to replace the the rubber edging on the sunroof - the one on car has dried up.
I've never replaced that so I don't know what's involved, but if you want to have at it I'm sure there will be no shortage of spare hands and spectators to give you advice.

Also, PO never told me when was the last time he flushed fluids - would it be possible to replace engine oil and possibly transmission and read axle differential fluids?
I don't mind giving you a hand draining and refilling oil and trans fluids (our sponsor is 928sRus, please use them for the filters!), but I'm not going to make any kind of commitment for disposal of the old stuff. I don't know what facilities are going to be available but I wouldn't expect Adam to dispose of them for you. If you bring everything you need, we'll get it done and maybe Adam can give you an idea where you can take the drained fluids.

Drop me a line here or through PM if anything of the above can be handled and also with a list of tools needed for the work (even if you guys already have them, I'll make sure to I have them on hand as well).

Thank You!
I think we're good on the tools but off the top of my head I'd say a filter wrench plus 17mm (?) socket for drain plug for oil change. 27mm socket for the crank bolt, a 10mm socket and 1/4" drive for the timing cover, maybe a screwdriver and 10mm allen head socket for the ignition coil if it's in the way, and Kempf tensioner tool and 17mm allen and torque wrench for the trans drain and fill. Not sure what else you may need but I'm sure we'll be able to cover it.

Sorry you won't be able to join us for the wrenching but we'd be happy to meet you.

Mike,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I currently have something scheduled that day but I am 85% sure i can reschedule and attend. I will let you know as it gets closer.

If I can make it do you need me to bring anything. I have a bosch hammer and a factory timing belt tool along with all the manuals. I am sure you guys are set but I figured i would ask.

Sounds like fun and I will make my best effort to be there. Although there is nothing needing work on my 928.

Anthony,
Very cool to hear from you and I hope you can make it. We're good on tools (AFAIK) except for maybe the hammer. I don't know how to use it, but that doesn't mean no one will need it.

Let us know if you can make it and when we start getting close I'll post a list of the things we might ask people to bring to eat/drink and everyone can pick something.

In addition to sponsorship from Roger at 928sRus and the 928OC, we also have a commitment for some goodies from someone who is not a sponsor on here, but they are sending or bringing some REALLY COOL STUFF.

Check back on here for updates everyone!

Mike - thanks for taking the lead on this. I haven't been that active on the 'list this past year but I'm back turning wrenches on my green '86.5 and it feels great!

Roger and Stan (928OC) - thank you very much for your sponsorship!!!!
