Default Fuel Tank Strainer Parts

I pulled the strainer and the plastic screen part was loose in the bottom of the tank. How is it held in the aluminum threaded part? Is there a sealing gasket between the threaded part and the tank? Teflon tape?

Steve,
It is glued in place and common that it has come apart.
The strainer comes with the gasket and is $41.58.
