I am just finishing such a conversion. 4 way sport seats to 12 way heated.
The only reasonable way is to find a pair of donor seats that have all the functions you desire. Otherwise it is a killer financially.

I do. If you want to stay with Porsche parts, it's an expensive proposition.
Seats have to come apart down to the frame.

You need a complete lumbar system, including the motors, shafts, switches and connectors.
Then you need the heating pads for both the backrest and seat and also possibly the bolsters, plus the controllers, switches and connectors.

I have all of those parts in stock, but I would only undertake something like that while doing a complete restoration of the seats.

Go with Paul! It will end up cheaper, and more inportantly, perfect.

I would have given him the work, but 1-I am *very* stubborn, and 2-We are one ocean apart.

I have a pair of sport 4-way seats already. Really just want to add lumber...I take long road trips and my lower back needs support.

orangecrush - if you have some patience I'll have a set of those very Champagne enhanced 8-way to 12-way sport seats in the Phoenix area for you to test out. They are going into my Turquoise Metallic project car.

If you goal is simply to add lumbar, I would suggest going with an aftermarket system. These can be simple to install and still be very effective.

But for heat, the covers still have to come off.

I installed a very simple, manual lumbar in the backrest of the Tass desk chair and it turned out very comfortable. On the plus side, the seat does not have to be completely dismantled to install one of these.

Thanks Paul, I think I will look into it. BTW, my sport seats came from a 911. Are they the same sport seat that came in the 928?

If the 911 was from the same era, then they are the exact same frame and structure. Only the design of the inserts change.

They are from the same era. I may just get a nice memory foam lumbar pillow to use only during longer trips.

I have not found any spare lumbar parts on ebay. I doubt they come up often enough to just pick up without buying a whole seat with lumbar.
