When Porsche told me they were not available I placed an order for 20 to see if any would come through. I received one and the rest went on back order.
The fact that the manufacturer - VDO - is saying they are NLA leads me to beleive that is the case.
I will search around for an alternative.
It was used on the 959 but I don't think that will help us much 8>)

I hope you find more of these.

Mine is broken as well.

So it would be great to get one.

Got it?

So your coolant is too thin?...

Is there an obvious crack in the float Randy? Might be able to do a little plastic welding or even an epoxy repair. There's a little magnet in there that sets a reed switch IIRC.

It's not the last one. They only sell them through Ebay now.

The float is a solid buoyant material - doesn't matter if it's cracked. A cork still floats, even if it's cracked. Same thing here.

This float material must get waterlogged over time, thereby losing its buoyancy and causing the sensor to fail to operate.

That's a fair price. Someone should negotiate a bulk price and buy them all up.

So is this just another switch that can be eliminated? None of my other cars have a level switch in the coolant reservoir.

I am only telling you what they said when I called to buy as many as I could.
They checked and said that they had no stock and that the auction would end.
Same answer I received from the other eBay auctions for the same part.

This eBay seller looks like he has some but notice how the price is going up.
