Did one on my 86, not hard at all but easier if you have two people. Take off the drivers side wheel and liner, tape the cable ends together and slowly pull thru the fire wall making minor adjustments as you go. The hardest part is working with the carpet. Jack

Burning Brakes
If you can keep the outside casing just hit the bicycle store and get some stainless brake cable and a couple cable crimps loop and crimp the cable on the pull handle and slide it through the casing and clamp it at the hood release less than $10 and better than new NOTE grease cable well before installing it to keep it returning nice don't forget to lube the hood release and catch nothing worse then the hood safety catch coming loose and the wind taking the hood off. been there done that and didn't like it I never knew hoods would go that high at 60mph lmao
