Default Any air experts on line ?

My wifes car 98 Caddy has been a nightmare I have repaired 4 systems on the 928 but this is kicking my butt.

Not cooling enough I have done the following:
VAc system, recharge at 2Lb's and new orifice tube.
98 Degrees Hi Hum
At Idle temp will go to 70 Degrees
At drive goes to around 80 Degrees

I checked the pressures:
53/295 @ idle
40/350 at 1500 Rpms then compressor kicks off.

This is way to high and I don't want to start throwing parts at it, any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Might be worth specifying the refrigerant.

It's either overcharged or overfilled with oil.

Don't you need to measure some temperatures too?

High pressure makes me think something is blocking flow, maybe evacuate and flush?

Did you put in a new dryer receiver?

*** I have no clue about AC, except what I read on the can.

R-134 I did find crap in the orifice tube I did a evacuate and 2 Lb's of R-134 is what it takes. This car is a nightmare to work on before I start dropping the compressor I want to know what this could be. I assume that to flush it the compressor would need to be disconnected and maybe removed and drained of oil and measured. If I do flush it how do I look for blockages in the condenser?

If you found crap in the orifice tube then you may never get it all out of the condenser, they are cheap compared to doing the job again.

New compressor, new drier, new orifice tube (line?) new condenser, flush with Wurth bulk brake clean, use BG oil (I will send you some if you can not get it locally)

Are your condenser fans coming on?

I spoke to my friend at the Pontiac dealership, my pressure were normal until I replaced the orifice tube and he thinks I have the wrong one. Discount Auto sold it for $1.79 the discounted price at the dealer is $14.00 and specific to the Deville. He said that most Caddy's use the other one although they look the same 1.062 Verse 1.076 diameter. I an going to replace the accumulator and new tube and see what happens. I believe the crud was from when I had the compressor and condenser replaced a while ago due to a compressor failure.
