928 Done In Alcantra
Call me crazy, but as a kid my dad had a friend with a Lotus Esprit outfitted with [what I believe was] an Alcantra interior. The seats, dash, pillars misc trim pieces were all done in black Alcantra. Coupled with the white exterior, the car looked amazing!
I was wondering if anyone here has outfitted an interior in Alcantra? Paul, ever had a request to do this?

I have a pod (not in a car yet) from Rob Budd, and a manual shift **** from Paul in black Alcantara. I haven't decided on the rest yet, but other than seat bolsters in leather I'm thinking pretty much all Alcantara, when I couldn't guess.

It looks way better in person. The alcantara photographs grey-ish - but I asure you this looks black in person. The best part about this is there is ZERO glare.
Ed Meyer (EdMD) has Rob Budd's old car. That was done in tan alcantara.

John,
Locally, Justin Martin (who?)did his rear quarters and some other stuff in Alcantara and it looked real good. Justin has been MIA for a while now, but I know he still has his 928.

And yes, it does look really good that way.

Yes,it does. I heard that Justin slept with a large piece of Alcantara for a week before deciding to put it into his car and at that point had to be coaxed back to the sleeping with a woman. Bless his Heart! JK Justin, if you're out there

Alcantara on the dash is a very useful idea like Andrew mentioned to eliminate glare. I have thought it might be a good choice for the inner seat cushion area to contrast to leather bolsters/headrest. Because it would be better for temp extremes and comfier. But I wonder if it is too flimsy to keep the shapes that our seats come in?????
Also on the steering wheel, it seems that hands would stain it much faster than leather. So I guess - dash - center tunnel - door inserts for sure.
Rear quarters sounds interesting, but how involved is that and where do you stop?
I have saved a great collection of pics from all top makes/models of great interiors to someday do a thread that will try to make the best interior possible, but that's a ways off unfortunately. There is a nice thread that started with a nice interior pic I posted and ended with the shot of all the custom leather bits available from the factory.

Ferrari guys that come to our autocross DO NOT like the Alcantara stuff on the steering wheel grip area. Didn't hear them say why, but say they wear gloves to drive because of it.
