Thinking about getting a 928

I agree totally...for $6800, you need to be getting an '85 that is fully sorted and looks VERY, VERY NICE...inside and out! Not perfect, but nothing more than the smallest dash cracks, no seat tears and maybe a SMALL amount of faded paint or small PDR fixable dents...

For $6800 it better be a well-sorted 85. All the maintenance up to date. Good records of LOTS of new parts installed in the last few years, otherwise YOU will be installing them. Look for freshly done timing belt, water pump, motor mounts, pan gasket, torque tube and torque converter bearings, steering rack, steering rack boots, tie rods, front and rear wheel bearings, brake rotors, brake master cylinder, brake lines, rear halfshafts, shocks, upper and lower front A-arms, power steering pump, power steering hoses, cam cover gaskets, intake manifold vacuumn lines and hoses, breather hoses, coolant hoses, fuel pump(s), fuel injectors, fuel filter, fuel lines, front main seal, rear main seal, oil pump seals, AC headunit, AC solenoids, AC vacuum actuators, AC compressor, AC hoses, AC o-rings, AC expansion valve, alternator, window switches, LH and EZF relays, new tires, alignment - AND that's just the common stuff.

Or, using actual numbers, buying a 928, $4500.
Realizing every wear-part is worn-out when you get it home.....priceless
I'm in $10,500 on THAT car and it still can't be worth more than $2K.
But, it will NOT defeat me. And that is the disease speaking.
