I have it (or real suede) on part of my wheel, and find myself deliberately putting my hands there because of how nice it feels. Most of the wheel is perforated leather, which isn't bad either..

I don't use alcantera on my racing wheel... Though many racing wheels are either that or Suede. For me since I steer with one hand I slip the wheel on corner exit and can't do that smoothly w/ a suede/alcantera wheel... Love it on my street car though...looks and feels good.

I just saw this thread, I have been living w/ for over a year now and now issues, i like it and would do it again.
Like AO said, no glare, easy to clean and the black it does not photo well.
Here is an inside shot on the road it photos better under natural light.

Very very nice.

I'm curious what this would look like in Cashmere....

Default Alcantar interior

Here some pctures of the interior. It's a mix of alcantera, leather and pascha.

Beautiful looking int. Ed. But, the pascha looks dirty to me. Is it just the lighting in the picture that makes that material look that way?

This is Rob Budd's work, btw, the pascha's not dirty. Like Andrew posted earlier, this was Rob's personal car. ED

Valour fabric can look darker and lighter in spots with cameras. I am sure in person, there is not a speck of dirt on them. Kind of like vacuuming carpet, one direction is light, the other direction dark depending on the angle.

.........but leather has that SMELL that separates the good german stuff from the "new car smell" of plastic outgassing...
Big fan of leather. Easy to own too, if it's black.

Ed, thanks for this. I really need to do my pod/dash [big surprise] on the new 88' S4. I'm debating on whether or not to embark down the path of an Alcantra [or nearly all Alcantra] interior. Thing only thing thats stopping me are the seats... I do enjoy the look/feel of a traditional leather seat.
