Default Greg Brown Exhausted - 90 Zyclamrot Metallic S4

Here is the complete install of the GB headers and full exhaust system for the Zyclamrot car. Being totally **** retentive about some things (I no longer fart just burp now) I had Greg's beautiful stainless steel pieces of art hot coated. I did this for a few reasons (1) reduce underhood and under carriage temps. Having just relocated to the Phoenix Arizona Area where the daytime temps in the summer can exceed 115 degrees F / 46 C anything I can do to keep the temps down is a benefit. (2) If you believe the marketing, coating the inside of the headers increases the flow speed. (3) Though SS is a hardy material I figure coating it can only increase it's lifespan. I suspect it will last longer than I do.

Damnit Dan, you just keep raising the bar. Those look mighty fine. Saw your car this afternoon, looked like it'd been detailed to within an inch of its life. You picking it up soon?

Not yet. Now we have a good baseline on the car. Everything is now sorted and it is running/breathing right. The fun stuff begins now.

Doing some head/cam/intake work to see what gains can be had without doing a complete rebuild. When finished I will post up the chronology and taxonomy of the work being done. I really only want to do things in the spirit of an original and stock-ish car. The enhancements are minor but effective. Things like new Bilsteins, Ed's new water pump configuration, Roger's Gates Racing timing belt, 18" rear Cup II wheels (a la JWise inspired), Jim Corenman refreshed CDR-220, improved stock looking amp/speaker system, etc. I have the Turquoise car to fulfill my desires for building Superman's 928.

Really looking forward to when both cars are completed. Will be a hoot to compare the driving differences between your 5spd GT and stroker GTS with my 91 stroker and the mildly enhanced 90 S4's.

Most definitely!

Coming along quite nicely, Dan. Can't wait to see the final results for both cars. They will truly be a sight to behold.

Amazing!

What are those springy-thingies on the side of the headers? Is that what's holding the pieces together?

I think I'm going to have to do some exhaust work on my car pretty soon.

GB is the brains behind the design. He subs out the actual fabrication to a local shop he does business with. Greg has previously estimated on this forum the final full SS exhaust cost to be +/- $3k. I suspect notably less if no SS.

I don't yet know what the cost of coating is. Haven't been invoiced on that yet. This too was done by a local shop. If I had to guess it would be in the $400 - $600 range.
