Default 86 928 going to be parted out

As much s it saddens me I think I am going to part out my 86 928S, it is the one in my avatar. Prussian metallic blue. I will be waiting until next week when the 86.5 arrives to see if it needs anything. The overall condition of the 86 is good, the interior is in very good condition, it is blue as well. I don't plan on selling the motor right now, due to the amount of work into it : water pump, rebuilt tensioner, tb, paint and ect. The motor had a small fire several years ago and has proven to be a vast amount of work so I am just going to try and get back some of the money I have put in to it. I also have a few spare parts. Thanks Jack Davis

Always bothers me seeing someone tear a car apart just because they won't get what they want out of it by selling it to someone who would enjoy it.

I agree with you Bob.

Jack if you do decide to part it, I would keep all the S4 stuff from the 86.5

That color blue is my favorite color on a 928. Please do not part it out. Give someone else a chance to bring it back to life. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. What made you give up on it?

I spent a good amount of time and money on it, it runs but runs very rich it need mm's, tt rebuild, new rack, wiring bits, paint the hood and fenders and on and on. I hate to tear it apart and would loved to have driven it, but the fire didn't do it much good at all. It is a great looking car can be a great car finished, but my business has been very strong for the past few months and free time has been hard to come by, plus as proven in todays economy that a basically non running 928 will not bring much money. I would love to see it go to a good home and see the road again. I don't mine losing money on the project but I don't need to lose most of it in a short period of time, so the other option is to sell good parts to help other project cars, most of the parts are very good shape, I have bought some good ones and some misrepresented ones. If someone is interested in the car PM me I can tell you everything I know and maybe come to an agreement. Thanks, Jack

We had this talk Jack, but the other car is, in all likelyhood going to need all that, except the paint, and possibly more.
Seems they all do with very few exceptions.

Well sorted 928's are few and far between.

The kind of car that I could get into and drive to CA and back and only have to stop for a oil change, and not worry about anything else with the car.

I understand all that Greg, the big problem is all at one time. I enjoy working on them but I do think driving them is a bit more enjoyable. I understand that the 86.5 will also need work to be sorted out, dosen't even need to be well sorted as long as I get to space the work out a little. Just got a call, the 86.5 just got loaded on the truck and is on her way to Georgia. Thanks, Jack

You know you got friends that will help with tools, advice and what ever it takes to get it right a little at a time if need be.

I have seen you struggle with the other car and seen the frustration on your face that even a ten minute drive would cure a lot of.

Keep the 86.5 in one piece if you can, they are rare cars, and IMHO, the last of the best looking body style, with the best that could be had at the time.
That is just my thoughts on it.

I am also really excited for you Jack, and to have another 928 driver here, that will be four more in the last month, with another on the way.

Strange how a good support group can get more of them on the road.

We got Pauls back on the road and it is now being driven hard.

Another new one in Newnan.

Spike just left the shop today with mucho good stuff, his is close to being a car I would drive anywhere.

You have yours coming.

Paul's son, Ryan has another car.

That is four, and when we add Ryans, it is five.

gonna look good in a row going down the road at speed.
