Default Tach Needle Bounce on Shutoff

Is it normal for the tach needle to 'bounce' up to 4 or 5k on the dial when you shutoff the ignition?

I haven't got a solution, but my '91 S4 does that from time to time (maybe once in 25 start/shutdown cycles). I've had it suggested that it's a symptom of the ignition switch getting worn, but it's so intermittent that I haven't investigated further.

An old thread but curious to know too.

Mine does this from time to time also.

Like Tom ask, is this normal (don't think so but...) or not?

Thanks.
