Less of a Euro vs US question than it is of local requirements for cats, which get added or removed to suit the local laws making almost no difference between US and Euro performance when similarly equipped.

At lower RPM all versions have about the same torque and HP, the Euro S doesn't kick until about 3500 RPM where it walks away. Most of the 5 spd advantages are at launch, where the Euro S is no different from a non S, so the auto will look fairly tame compared to the manual, but in most rolling situations the S will still walk away.

No it wasn't. Or at least to my knowledge not single one '78-82 4.5L ROW have been found yet which had any S parts from factory. It would be interesting to find option codes for them but I don't expect them to be found any time soon.

Actually, I have. Or, it's stated in the German "Fahrzeugbrief":

"Porsche heckspoiler. höhe üb.fahrbahn 930mm"

Which means Porsche rear spoiler, resting 930mm over the road. And mine's not an S.

EDIT: Or wait a sec. Mine is a Euro, does that men "ROW", or is it a own category? Eventhough, there is probably no warranty that is came original from factory with the spoiler, but it would be weird if someone who put it on later, also made the note in the Fahrzeugbrief.

All changes like spoilers installed after factory must be updated to brief in Germany. Fact that its mentioned in brief means it was very likely installed after first registration.
