Default Porsche 928 Patents

While doing research for my company's new product line, I stumbled across a whole slew of patents that PAG (PKG back then) had applied for the 928. Many date back to 1978. Some of them you will recognize instantly and others, well, let's see if you can figure them out.

We'll start with an easy one.

Here's a nice one on the bulging eyes of the 928.
As some of these may look trivial to you now, imagine how advanced they were back in the 1970's when they were designed and created over forty years ago!!

US 4121478; The forgotten claim:
12 The improvement according to claim 4 wherein said rotatably driven crank means further includes a connecting rod mechanism further adapted to self-disassemble and puncture the radiator.

One reason this is interesting is that you can even put a patent on something that sucks

Who can remember one of the most complicated attempts to lower an already embarassing drag co-efficient? Anybody with an early S4 reading this?

An elastic driveshaft? Look at the curvature on the torque tube? Look at who the inventor is! Some styling cues from his early days working with the italians (ItalDesign)?
