The engine compartment looks like the only thing that survived! That looks like maybe an ATF or electric fire in the cabin or rearward.

Can't be a cat fire.. UK 928's didn't get cats until 1990.

My guess is failed fuel line in the rear right wheel well - a common rust-spot on UK 928's.

The fire was the right-rear quarter judging by the completely gone PU and buckled hatch on that side. The steel quarter survived, but aluminium doors melt a lot sooner

I think this was a fuse board fire. I've got a feeling it's a guy on the UK list.
