Default The dream is over....my 928 burns to the ground

Yesterday I was driving my car and my I noticed smoke and flames coming out of my sides it started from the bottom middle. I had just fueled the car with gasoline
My door locks failed on me I pulled in to the closest place I could I had some burns on my body I had to break the driver's window with my arm and Ipod used together.

I just checked out of the hospital unfortunately for me I only had liability on the car so this is it for me

WTF?! Wow. Glad your ok, for the most part. I have always wondered about these electronic locks failing in an emergency. I'm not sure what else to say.

I have a window breaker / seat belt cutter tool in every car. $5 at Harbor Freight.

I give this thread 20 posts before someone asks for parts.

middle of the car, possibly not running right and a cat fire which can spread pretty fast.

Sorry to hear, but the door locks can be manually actuated to open the door. Just reach back and twist.

hmmm a squirter block huh.

Joey,

Sorry to hear about this, glad you are OK. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help possibly get your 928 back on the road.

BTW, hopefully it will never happen to anyone else, but if your electric locks fail you can still use the rotary ***** to unlock the door if needed.

Glad you're ok.

Not tring to arm chair quaterback you here, but there are some important lessons here for all of us. Always have the old fuel lines replaced (that may have caused your fire) and always carry full coverage or classic car insurance on your 928 for more than you paid for it (that way you can get another one!!).
