Oh that's right, they don't sell anything 928 related... hense the name.

Dollar for dollar would have to be x-pipe at about 7.5% rate of return (HP/$)

For CA keep your car stock or you will have trouble with smog. The smog shops are getting more and more strict about checking for headers and non-factory cats, etc.

Er, uh, do as I say not as I do.

Default Norcal

I am looking at Northern California to move as a Teacher. That is if they have any jobs there when I finish my Masters next spring. If not, I will look at moving back up to Seattle. The heat in AZ is killing me in the summer.

Bill is right. This would be the route to go preferrably. If you wish to still to an X-pipe, purchase one that can be swapped out on your smog days and keep your OE cats some place safe where they cannot be damaged.

I can tell you first hand that the most cost effective is an engine conversion.

HiGene is an important matter we each need to consider...

Oh, sorry.

Gene, Welcome. Curious why you say this. And to what would be converting to?

The video clip in your your signature line is the perfect visual accompaniment to the hypocrisy.

If not using the extra power alot, Nitrous ads alot of HP for the money but cost could be higher when using it more.
Brett went from stock 15's to 13seconds with alittle over 200hp I would think a later model car would go from higher
14's to mid 12's in the 1/4 mile with the same setup.

Maybe it is because he has never done it.

Default x-pipe

Who else sells the x-pipe or crossover besides 928 motorsports? Are they basically all the same?

Agreed. New spark plugs will probably be worth at least several HP and offers the best Increase/dollar spent. Unfortunately this is not a permanent gain.

First find out what you have NOW.....take it to a dynojet and do a few runs. That way you KNOW what you are starting with and can measure what if any gains you get. At this point you do not even know if the camshafts are properly timed or what the belt looks like and if the belt warning system still works.

Same? Yes, basically, but there are not many options currently in production. 1 bolt on that I am aware of (through the vendor you mentioned). The first that I am aware of was the Ott X pipe, dating back to the early - mid 90's, but I don't know that those are being built any longer.

Some folks have done custom crossovers.

So why are wire sets so expensive? What is so special about these that they run $200?

Thanks
