Default back on the road! Bill Ball, you're a saint!

Woohoo!!! All is well. Got everything back together, and while it was apart, checked the timing belt for good measure. Bill, thank you so much for spending a bug chunk of your Sunday helping me. It was great fun, VERY educational and the end result puts a huge smile on my face. Last thing I need to do is install the belly pans and it's totally done! I'd love to find a lift and a steam cleaner before I do, but it's not too likely... There's a VERY slight pull to the left that an alignment should totally fix, but it's super minor.

:-)

No, a little while back, i spun the car into curb and tore a good chunk of the belly pan off, bent the bolts that hold the alternator cassette to the block, snapped the alt belt, sheared the power steering belt, tore one of the steering rack boots and knocked the pulley off the alternator. So, we fixed all that today. Thanks again Bill!

Ah-I remember you beating yourself up about this...

Thankfully, as I was discussing with a Rennlist member on the phone last night, this is an amazing and helpful community with guys like Bill and many other fine experts involved.

Truer words have seldom been spoken. (or typed). It's a blessing and a privilege to be as close as I am to someone with such a wealth of knowledge and such a generosity of time, effort and spirit. I do hope I get an opportunity to return a favor.

I got to agree that there are some great guys here, that put a lot of their
time and efforts in keeping these cars (and owners) going.

Here's Bill working on one of my small projects from last year:

(also helped by Jim M. and Dennis K.)

Got to thank them and all the others for their support.

What's the loudspeaker project in the garage? Looks like a very nice 2-way cabinet. I've done a little bit of speaker building in my past, probably not as high end, but still fun.

I've spoken to Bill a couple times on the phone. Good guy for sure. Need to meet him in person one of these years.
