Wow so this would seem so damn simple, but it's not. I am restoring the interior to my 1982 928 S Competition Package, and I am currently working the passengers side door card. I have it all detached except for the pivoting manual door lock. How do I go about removing this without breaking it?

ahh i think your asking how to remove the door lock button ???

Take a small screw driver with a fine end on it,
pry the center of the door lock **** out,
then unscrew the phillips screw pull off the **** .
then place your hand over the lock surround ,and gently press it towards the door and unscrew it.

Warning when refitting only make the surround just past snug ,
and dont overtighten the phillips screw as this can also cause the lock linkage to bind

If the surround will not rotate off by hand, you can put the tips of a pair of needle nose plyers in the slots and rotate it that way.
