FS: 1985 Porsche 928 S SOLD, now need to sell the transmission 5 speed LSD
I have listed the car on Ebay and just need to move on.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1182
Its being sold as it sits now and I would like it sold before I have to pay another months storage on it.
I do have most of the parts to get this thing running but those would be additional.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me
Special thanks to Rixter for helping me decode this car before I bought it, the options are listed in the Ebay ad.

I wish I had better pictures, but by the time I got around to taking pics, the thing was already on the tow dolly. Oh well, you can see how to tow it now.

Its the special engine delete lightweight performance configuration
Makes for the lightest weight 928 possible, best handling version....unfortunately it cant do 0-60 only 60-0 assuming you could push it that fast!

ryan with all due respect, You're not going to get 2500 for it like that.. Pull the tranny out and sell it for 1700.00 then the clutch for 400.. then the ECU, then tow the rest to the yard and sell it for scrap.
Sorry but the way it sits, its a $500 car. Think about it... You have this 928 that doesnt run and not only does it not run you have the engine.. But thats not part of the sale.... So you are selling a shell with a 5 speed tranny and it is not even an 86.5 with big brakes.... and the shell has 150,000 miles on it

What we have is a rolling chassis w/a transaxle in suspect condition because no comment was made re it's condition (ie tranny worked well be dismantling began).
Interior is a crapshoot because the pics are not descriptive and all we really know is it's "dusty".
I'll venture to guess what will throws off potential buyers is what do they get for minimum $2500?? I mean, really...

What would it cost to put that car together? Then add 2500 bucks. Good luck w/ the sale but I think you will have to change this strategy. Maybe you will get lucky.

I dont have a place to work on the car any longer so I cant complete it
whats a 5 speed LSD S3 worth? There is a thread thats very popular suggesting $10K. Do the math....
BTW, the engine was removed from the car because the prior owner was dead set on putting in a Chevy.

I'll do the math...
$2500 - car
$2500 - S3 motor
$1000 - clutch pack
$500 - torque tube
$500 - EZF/LH brains
$500 - exhaust
equals $7500
plus unknowns...
$750 - coilovers
$750 - radiatior
$2000 - transaxle
So now we're at $11K and we really have started sorting the car out.
I'm not including labor and I'm being generous on parts cost.
Plus you must assume the leather and paint is reasonably good, and electrics are spot on.
Tough row to hoe...
