Default 19" Tire recommendations

Need to know whos using what. I`m looking for a performance all season tire. Front to mount on 8.5 X 19 and backs to mount on 10X19. Not looking for the cheapest.

Something close to the 25" circum. I am thinking 235/35/19 & 275/30/19. But its not carved in stone.

Let me know what your thinking based on experience. Thanks, Kevin

I went with Michelin PS2s (not all season tires.....) on my 19s. My fronts are the same width as yours but my rears are 11". Tire sizes are: 235/35 19 up front and 295/30 19 rear

The 19" Carrera Classics that I'm running on my GT are off a 987 and are close to what you're talking about, 8x19 front and 9.5x19 rear. 235/35 on the front (could go with 245/35's) and 265/30's on the rear (25.3" OA dia., FWIW 275/30's are 25.5" OA dia.).

I agree with Chuck that the ideal tires IMHO are the Michelin PS2's. That's what came on the wheels when I got them. FANTASTIC tires! BUT... very expensive, so my replacements have been Kumho Ecsta SPT's - Ultra High Performance Summer Tires. Great tires for about 1/2 the cost of the PS2's with most of the performance, especially on the street. How often do you need All Season tires in Page? You shouldn't be driving your 928 in the snow anyway...

Here's what came on my 997S, and have replaced a couple of times. Bridgestone RE050A. They fit on the OEM 8.5 x 19 fronts (235/35/19) and for the rear 11.5 x 19 with the 305/30/19.

They are a great tire, predictable handling, much better wear than the Pirellis or Michelins.

LOVE the RE050a Poles!!! As good as the former S03 poles. Aweome with wet traction needs too.

Question - do the 19" create the need for any modifications? ie ..rolled fenders, speedometer adjustment, etc??

If the offsets are correct, you shouldn't need to roll the fenders, although a slight roll may be needed on the rears depending on the tire width.
Shouldn't need any speedo adjustment if you're running close to the original overall tire diameter, which is right around 25".

I just put these Contitnentals on my 86.5 928S, and I couldn't be happier!

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....emeContact+DWS

They are a fantastic tire with good traction, low noise and all-season usability. Hopefully they will wear as well as I expect them to. I only have one set of wheels and didn't want to put on another set of the Dunlop high-performance summer tires that I replaced. The Dunlops seemed to not stick very well when the temperatures dropped a little, and I have not noticed much of a difference at all between the traction of the Dunlop's and these Conti's.

Like I said, I am happy with them and would recommend them for all-season duty.

I'll second the recommendation for Conti Extreme Contact DWS. I put two new rears on this spring to match the fronts. The fronts are due to be replaced this fall but still give excellent grip wet or dry. Very reasonable cost and FWIW reviewed/rated well on Tire Rack. As always, YMMV.
