Here is the difference in making a 928 look current/contemporary vs. a dated look

wheel size/tire width, offset and ride height

The scrawney-appearing original tires with the silly offset above vs. the wide, low-profile tires, perfect set-up below

I have never been a fan of off-color interiors, but WOW does it work in that car!

I also disagree. I think the nice clean stock look is anything but silly.

You also appear to be comparing an S3 to an S4.

Man I'm sorry but this car is beautiful. What you define as "dated" I define as classic, stylish and vintage. I guess if I wanted something contemporary and current I would purchase a newer vehicle. But hey, to each their own!

WOW, Why the negative outlook on life to ASSUME I am putting my own car down?

I own an 85 and prefer the Old Bumper style to the new bumpers. So I am NOT putting anything down except the dated wheels and offset. I have been here for 7 years and no one is more of a fan of the 928 than I am since 82. The BODY is awesome, that is a given the only thing being discussed by me is the Wheel/tire combo and what a huge difference it makes.

So Who prefers 16 inch wheels and narrow tires over 18's and wide grippy rubber for the 928?

My post was a positive post about how the one lacking aspect of the original spec can and has been fixed by the S4 owner in the bottom pic because as we all know the BODIES are identical!!!!! Put narrow tires and small wheels on an exotic and see the difference.

IMRE, after 7 years of posts you should know better, I'll send you some meds so you can lose the negative wise-*** slant.

My original post was intended to show how modern/contemporary/TIMELESS all 928's look with the appropriate wheels/tires. It was a positive post.

News flash - the 85 body and S4 body are the same, just different bumpers.

Tom TV, aren't you running flat 7" wheels on your '85 european automatic?

p.s. LOVE the lobster or ?lipstick? red interior. Would go better with a guards red exterior.

Exterior looks great, but I can't say I'm a fan of the vibrant red interior. Checked out their website and looks like they want $12.5k for it, for those of you noticing the low bid price and thinking about getting a steal!

I think the wheels look great. My only beef with those wheels is that they're only 7" wide. If someone came out with chrome manhole covers in a 9X17, I'd be all over it.

22's on an SUV make me think of old wagon wheels, and likely ride like them. I want a few inches of sidewall between me and road, even if it costs me a second around some track. I'm also not a fan of using the widest tire that almost fits, 275/245 suits me fine.

There is a distinction between classic and whats currently in fashion, and classic suits me fine.

The forged manholes are supperior to the turbo twists in many way. Yes, the twists look nicer but their offsets are anything but ideal. The manoles are A LOT lighter, forged and have the proper offset. When I switched to twists, I did not notice any imporvement in traction, NONE. The ride was about the same but the car wonders (follows the ruts) more than it did with the 225s. BUT the twists with the 265s in the back, do look bad a$$.
