Wow, I'm blinded... That's a very clean red interior! Very shiny, too!

My 85 Euro has the stock undersized wheels/tires on it as it sits in storage and when it runs again those will be replaced along with other upgrades/improvements. The out of proportion thin wheels/tires have always bugged me. I have always been interested in improving that weak link in the appearance of the 928. Life has priorities, building my house comes before enjoying my fun car.

It's not just the 7" width, its also the profile of the tire. Let's face it, people have trouble giving away the factory manhole covers. There is a very long thread here about who has the best wheels. Most are 18" some even 19"and the widths are as wide as possible 10 even 11 inches in the rear with the widest possible tires. The driver comments usually sound like "the car corners on rails or sticks to the ground..........."

The 928 is as good of a platform as you can produce for a perfect handling sports car. The low center of gravity, the 50/50 weight distribution, the double wishbone / weissach suspension - ALL IDEAL - and used today by the best handling vehicles money can buy, almost identical the Mercedes AMG SLS. The only difference being the wheel/tire and the coil-overs. THAT"S IT!!!!! replace the wheel/tires and coil-overs with modern equivalents and the 928 will handle as well.

There is a reason ALL high performance, high dollar exotic cars come with as wide a tire as possible with very low profile. Same as in the brake discussion where some claim that drilled rotors don't work, yet every top car has drilled rotors.

I have a 928 because that's the car I wanted ever since I drove in one in 1982. I could drive/own many of the cars being discussed on the recent threads but IMO the 928 is the best looking car designed in modern times only equaled by a few others like a JAG XKE or XKSS or the AM One-77. I am lucky that I have one of the best optioned 928's. That being said, I am objective and realistic. The factory wheel/tire combo is a mismatch, the GTS aero mirrors are MUCH nicer than flags, and I wish Porsche had recessed the windshield wipers.

I am also paying close attention to F50 style brake upgrade threads and N/A engine improvement threads as I have a spare 85 euro engine also in storage. I own a 928 because I want to and when I am done the entire car will match the custom exhaust note, one of the best at any price on the road.

Same deal as my car, except we have rear air (and LSD, don't know if the Chi-town car has LSD). If anyone wants one that bad they can buy mine - Milwaukee area, 86.0. Didn't really plan to sell, but it may be time to move on - newer Mustang?

This car really looks like the 928 that sold in INDY last year for less than $4500 bucks.

If you do search on the bbs, last summer someone posted pictures on black and red interior 85 car. I believe it was posted on craiglist. It might have been a mechanics lean from Euromotors..

I doubt it is the same car, but it is the same color combo. I would have purchased either one of them, but it was not the right time for me.

How is is possible that the carpet in the back has not faded to an awful pink?

Those seats would be insane with black piping or black stitching. Wow!
