Greg-

I too have used Pritek for getting AC lines rebuilt. So far so good. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

We tested the line at 300PSI with nitrogen underwater and no leaks.
Unless transfluid can climb I am not sure what is going on right now, but I will figure it out.

The line was leaking at a crimp, it is repaired now.
I still do not understand why it did not leak with 300PSI of nitrogen and would leak with transmission cooler pressure.

Pulsing of fluid pressure can do very strange things, not sure if pulsing occurs here though, but its not impossible. We have found that sharp edged barbs on fittings actually promote leaks at crimps, as they act as one way valves under pulsing once some fluid gets in there. Soft edged barbs dont seem to do this.

It is a strange thing the way it leaked, very slow leak, maybe one drop every 20 minutes, but a slow leak is a leak.

Greg, Crimping can be critical - the depth of the compression of the ferrule only has to be out a few .001" to fail. Using one maker's hose on another maker's fittings can be enough to cause failures, so re-using original ends could be the cause in this sort of case. One of the most critical here is teflon because the wall is very thin, and the tolerances are therefore very narrow. Crimpers supplied by hose or fitting makers are usually programmed very carefully to tight tolerances, but ONLY for a specific set of hoses and ferrules. Sometimes you get leaks like yours, sometimes catastrophic failures...and in high pressure failures (100s of Bar) people can die from 'oil injection', as the fluid can go right through a body.
I had my engine and auto box cooler lines rebuilt using original ends a couple of years ago, and so far no leaks.
