Though Andrew may have been better off to say the second thing that came to his mind prior to posting his response, I personally see nothing wrong with his other times voicing support for a vendor that has obviously treated him well. I, too, like Dave and Jeannie and I think I'm now fostering a new relationship with Roger and just started dealing with Mark A the other day. The truth is there is enough market share to go around for all and I, personally, will most likely split my monies spent across multiple vendors as they are all competent, I like them, and its good for the 928 community. Pulling off the gloves might be better spent with a PM. NOT trying to start anything...but I don't think this thread needs to go in the direction it probably can.

Some obvious concerns of mine is AO is currently working in one state and has his family in another state. How much time can he, or will he devote to the Owners Club?
AO is among the most active on this forum, perhaps that will become time spent on the Owners Club?
AO is a fun loving, animated friendly class clown (thats not meant as a negative), but just how good is he at organizing, and getting volunteers, and then getting those same volunteers to follow through on their commitments? AGAIN, I have concerns!
WTF does this have to do with sunshades??? IT's not my business but it is my business because I like to read posts that are applicable to what I am trying to learn/get accomplished without reading "bashing" that coming from others who have an "agenda." I'm not saying you don't have the right to voice an oppinion - but start your own thread where others can choose if they want to read/participate. This kind of posting derails, IMO, the intended purpose of Rennlist.

Frank

PS - Run against him if you think he's unworthy.....

Jim, I can understand your sense of things and how (I believe) this issue may now be out of context on your part. Yeah, AO is a friend of Dave. As you know, relationships are part of business, pleasure, cults like the 928 enthusiasts and life in general. My personal "Big three" (in order of $$$ spent) has been: Roger, 928 Intl, 928 Motorsports, and 928 Specialists. I have no bone to pick with any of them it's just how I felt about the service, price and warm and fuzzy relationship I felt when making a purchase.

Having said that, I DO know Andrew fairly well personally and have NEVER heard a bad word about Roger from him. There is an obvious competitive issue with Rog and Dave over the intake system, but they're both big boys and can deal with that themselves. AO is an affable fellow with a pretty crazy sense of humor and quite frankly I chuckled when I read his post, recognizing (in my mind) the comedic irony of it. Although AO does not need my defending anymore than Roger needs yours , I believe that's what it was and perhaps you might be looking at it deeper than needs to be.

I'm just one of the little guys out here and you are a highly regarded member of the 928 Owners Club and I hope that in your long term wisdom you consider that there is not always an agenda behind every post. Just sayin.

Default Sunshade Design Update

Contest Status is...I have sent out a list with all the "slogans" only (with no names/graphics) out to 20 928'ers to tell me ALL of their favorites. I will compile their answers to get the top 10 or 12 favorites (depending on how close it is).

Then I will turn those top 10 (or 12) favorites into an online survey which I will post online to get everyone's input nationwide so we can come up with a winner hopefully by this weekend. This is a completely scientific process i assure you.

Thanks for everybody's entries. There are all good and it's gonna be a close race.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to submit an entry and thanks to Laura for organising the contest.
All the sunshades are here so we just need to make a choice or choices and get them silk screened.

Whoa! Holy smokes! I seriously meant it as a spirited rib - I didn't realize it would hit such a nerve. I am very sorry to anyone who took it as something more, especially Roger. I have nothing against Roger or 928sRUs, in fact I placed an order for a couple hundred bucks with Roger a couple weeks back. I've also made purchases from 928 Specialists, 928 Intl, 928 motorsports, Pelican, Vertex, Autozone, etc. I am an equal opportunity customer.

One last quick comment about being un-biased before going back to the topic. I am a pragmatic individual. My motivation for running for president is being passionate for 928's and sharing that enthusiasm. That's all. If anyone would like to speak to me offline, please feel free to send me a PM.

Sorry for the derailment. Back to your regularly scheduled program.

Good car. The shiftpoints suck, though. Here's a pic some other person's car:
