Shark sans ac?
Well, I finally got my barn find in the garage, so I can start work in earnest. Definitely first on the list is figuring out why the battery drains flat in two weeks, and why the gauges don't work.
Anyway, given that it was 100 degrees today, I tried to see if the AC worked in the car, and I noticed something rather odd. I don't think the car has AC. I took a picture of the console and I noticed that the german equivalent of the "AC" button that is in my '85 is missing in the 79. I went down to the garage and looked for the compressor, or failing that, the fittings to add freon, and I couldn't find them. Did porsche build any 928s sans AC?

I think lack of AC was common in ROW cars, it was around the middle 70's that most US cars went to AC isn't an option. Big issue with the old 914, which never got a really decent AC system AFAIK.
I don't think I will be keeping AC in my 85 Euro and its a black car in SoCal.

The A/C in my 76 914 2.0 would freeze you out of the car on a 110° day with it set on it's warmest setting with the t-top on and windows up cruizing down the highway. Though factory, it did look like an aftermarket add on with the a/c unit hanging below the dash. The heater on that car was a entirely different story.
