fuel line replacement struggle question
I got the early CIS fuel line replacement kit from Roger. The flex line from the filter to the rigid line at the bottom of the car is extremely corroded at the rigid line. I have sprayed PB blaster on it a couple of times and it still seems reluctant to budge.
Any hints?
Thanks

Can you remove the flexible section leaving the fittings in place and just replace the hose.

use a dremel to cut off the swages on the lines then cut the line with a razor blade dont cut too deep so you dont scar the fitting the hose slides onto

This was one of the most frustrating jobs I've ever done on any of my sharks. My stuck line was the one that goes inside next to the engine, where there is no clearance whatsoever. I had to cut that collar off from below the car while laying on my back and reaching up with almost no clearance.
Do as Mrmerlin says - dremmel off in place, but do like I did - have wife standing there with fire extinguisher and a few large wet towels just in case - there are going to be alot of sparks around that fuel line.

I was replacing one of the hardlines to the rear wheel arch a while ago (due to pipe damage), and did one of the front hoses also (other was NLA). Lacing the new pipe in was such an enormous PITA that in the end I cut the hard line maybe 1ft back from the firewall and put in a joiner. That way I could fit the new hose to the end correctly oriented and tightened, lace it all into place and fit the joiner. When I tested the system with a bridged relay, I had a tiny weep at the joiner, but a small tighten fixed it, no leaks in a couple of years now.

Finally a full step forward this evening.
Thanks Roger and MrMerlin. I dremeled the fitting off in place and replaced the line using part of the kit I got from Roger. Can't pressure test yet as the damn in-tank pump is spinning in the tank. I started removing the tank tonight before the line replacement and at least ended on a successful note!!
Now time to tackle the engine compartment lines.
Thanks again for all the advice!
