Supercharger-Fuel PRessure question
I'm starting to learn about superchargers and plan to eventually put one in the MY87 project car. In the interim, I'm thinking about installing Ken's chips into the MY85. Since I have to put a new FPR on the 85, my question then becomes:
Is there a need or any value in going the adjustable FPR route on the 87 when I supercharge it? IF so, I'll just move the 87 FPR to the 85 and replace it with the adjustable. If not, then I guess I'll let price dictate my strategy.
Thanks!
Frank

If you supercharge your car the controller will need to be sharktuned. Once you have it tuned there is no need to mess around with fuel pressure to get the car to run well.
Adjusting fuel pressure is a bandaid for an unoptimized engine controller.

You can still keep the adjustable fpr when you supercharge but you will need to add an fmu to increase the fuel pressure enough to keep the car from running lean under boost. Sharktuning is the ultimate but a stage one setup can be done with the stock fuel system and an fmu. The only issue I have is my car runs a bit lean at the vacuum/boost transition point but otherwise it is great.
