Default Rear interior quarter panel removal '78, 928

Trying to get to fuel pumps ground point behind passenger side? rear quarter panel.Wonderful place for grounding wires! I have reviewed Adam birnbaum's picture post and WSM. My '78 does not seem to have as many screws as Adam and WSM. Is this true or do I just need to look more intensively. Also having a terrible time figuring out what is holding back of panel above the grounding point--looks like I'll be losing a thumb nail as a result of trying figure out what is holding panel above ground point. It looks like Adam's presentaion shows a metal tab the panel slides into but can not figure out how to slide panel off. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. GERMAN ENGINEERING--fasteners fastening fasteners, etc. Thanks, Greg Heinrichs.

there should be about 3 or 4 screws holding the rear edges of the panel to the wall and floor,
lift the carpet and it should become obvious , i also suggest to remove the floor tie down though the screws are usually pretty rusted this way the panel can swing out without hitting this small piece and cracking the under portion of the panel once you have the screws out try pulling the thin section that goes along the window down at the rear and disengage the few push in clips that hold there you only need to move the panel about 4 inches to fit your hand behind the panel and wrench the bolt out

Thanks, got it out and back in. Found 2 more brackets & screws after removing back seat and pulling seat belt cover from side panel after which panel came out. My '78 has no screw on seat belt cover , no screws along panel above rear window and no 8mm or any bolt in rear. I guess some changes were made over the years

Going to do the same thing soon, as just about none of my speakers work. I'll try to take some pictures

Just went through all this last week. I didn't take any pictures, either.

The WSM shows all the screws anyway. There's a good reason the 928 doesn't have rattles throughout the cabin: screws holding everything down tight.
