Hey Ducman, I swapped a 4.7 euro S motor into my '78. Since you have a '79 w/ CIS, I assume you are dropping in a CIS euro S engine as well. I believe those all are single distributor.

It is worth the effort! I had to use a different crossmember IIRC. Locate some '85 manifolds for it as well.

Ok sorry.
No doubt it will still be worth the effort. I don't know about the euro S w/ K-jet, but the CIS engine is a dream!
Good luck! Maybe sometime I'll be in Albuquerque again in my car and stop by. I'll fuel up at the local AFES shoppette.

You don't need to run the distributor. You can run your entire ignition with that engine.

I was there last October, my sister flew in for the Balloon Festival.
That Shoppette was little more than a gas pump!

Confusion reigns!

The dual-distributor was used on the LH-jetronic Euro cars. If it's a CIS car you _can't_ use a dual dizzy. (Without mods and cash.)

Which distributor you use depends on which ignition system you have or want to have on the car. Single coil means single distributor, dual coil means dual distributor.

As you get all the parts together we can sort out which items will work best or need changing.

I think you will need a dizzy with an advance curve to match the CR of the engine....

Nope. I'm running a US distributor advanced about 4 degrees over stock with Euro heads/cams.

I once did the opposite transplant, cis to l jet. I had to change the fuse relay panel, use the correct injection wire harness and ecu, and the worse part of the job change all the fuel lines from the gas tank because l jet required several more fuel lines be run to the engine compartment. I think the cis requires a fuel pump with more fuel pressure, has a fuel accumulator in the passenger side rear wheelwell that is not required with l jet and has a different wire harness.

Ya I'm not going for cis. Might do the etec engine system for this engine, or keep the l-jet
