Ummm is the offset not wrong for a 928 at 50 instead of 65 or am I missing something ?

No affiliation... I don't recognise the seller. just stumbled across them on my daily search for a new shark....

 

I think these wheels were made specifically for 928s.... Not sure of any offset discrepancy. Anybody else know anything about the Stosek wheel offsets?

 

I believe you could get these for the 964 as well. I've seen pictures of 964 Strosek conversions with these wheels.

 

Ahhh. That would explain it.

 

OZ who actually made these for Strosek had same problem as all other aftermarket wheel makers. 928 requires so large ET that its virtually impossible to achieve without stupid looking outer rim which almost turns back inwards. Such outer rims do exist but wheels would look stupid using them. Thus 50-52mm is about max ET these wheels can have. AFAIK 50mm is correct ET for these wheels even though its not correct for 928.

 

The big question is:

WILL IT BLEND?

With 225 rubber no but its very close.

 

Could it be that these are designed for the wider Strosek front fenders only?

What would the different ET do to the car's handling and steering feel/effort? Would you get more tramlining?

 

No, they were sold for lighter modified stock fender cars also. Not best possible match but many other aftermarket wheels are similar. For example 928 specific BBS RS was someting like 8x16 ET52 IIRR back in the day. Exact same problem with outer rim in them also.

 

Yep, my '89 came with aftermarket ET50 17x8 fronts and 235 rubber and rubbed.

 

Derporsche is Greg Schickle and it would be an understatement to say Greg has been into 928's longer than 90% of people reading this. The wheels were made for the 928.

 

Oh, cool! I met Greg at SITM - very nice guy! I wish I had the budget to buy these wheels, but I don't.
