Default WOT operation

After the frustration over the (WOT) inoperative new switch replacing the inoperative old switch, I should make sure what features the WOT signals causes to occur. Does the WOT signal change mapping/timing to promote better performance during WOT driving? Or does it promote better emissions behavior? What kind of functoin does the WOT signal more specifically promote? Thanks....

I believe WOT tells the computer to toss the maps and just dump as much gas into the engine as possible. In a sense, an override to all normal engine management activity.

Not exactly...

The WOT tell the LH to ignore the O2 sensor and dump in fuel as the map indicates per the reading on the MAF. It also tell the ignition to switch from the cruise map to the WOT map.

I'll just add to Andrew's post by indicating that a one line WOT fuel map that ADDS fuel to the base map according to RPM but doesn't replace the base map.

Ya know... i was going to say that, but then I thought it would get overly complicated (). Bill is right.
