anodized window trim

Default anodized window trim

I am having my 1980 928 painted and am wondering if the aluminum window trim can be re anodized. And, if so would anynoe have a reccomendation.

I'm painting my son's 1980 now and I am going to prime the trim with an etching primer and paint with a satin black trim paint....Just be careful putting it back on.

I have no idea if it can be re anodized or what it would cost...I would imagine it would be pricey.

You can just sand it with 600 and paint it with a satin black trim paint, it will stay on as good as anything

Good trim paint seems to give a perfectly good result. That's the way I'm going to go as I've had good results before with that method on other cars. Nicoles overlays sound like a good alternative too ... particularly on easily scratched and chipped lock bezels.

I bought a can of the wurth satin black trim paint and it looks fantastic. Has held up pretty well for the last 2 years..

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I found a place in Mesa, AZ that will strip and anodize in matte black all five window trims for $125.00. I think this is the way I will go. Thanks again.
