That's the formula for lingering in business, especially on the net.
Treat a couple right, hoping they will come to your aid vocally, and treat the rest however you want.
That's precisely how we were played. Folks kept playing the " you're too hard on him", "he treats me well" and "he's just misunderstood" cards.
One or two strikes as a supplier, your out, in industry. No excuses. Making an excuse is a strike, too.

Yeah and Soup has a history of "cartoons" with ole mason! That said, I am not so much proud we were first.......simple because we should have been.
I mean afterall, we are the BEST Porsche site out there, with the Best, most fullsome 928 community in the whole damn world.
We are expected to do the right thing, EARLY!
Leadership is not easy, nor often popular. If some site want to be "liked", go bake a freekin cake........ If you want to lead, then "lead" dammit.
truth is, "nice" is not always "operative".

It wouldn't have mattered. I came to the conclusion shortly after my failed dealings with him that his business was simply a junk yard business, with the same attention to detail. His was a virtual junkyard, however, and he pulled the parts rather than you doing it yourself. Sometimes they worked, often they didn't, he didn't really care though one way or the other. Even though he said otherwise, and rather loudly at that, his actions spoke far louder than his words. Look at his ebay feedback - even the positve ones were laced with complaints. No big surprise, and no loss for this community. Maybe a few more cars that should survive will.

He did stupid ****. He thought that too many people were trying to take advantage of him so he often acted in a hostile manner.
He couldn't just pull an engine or transmission and put it on the shelf. He had to dismantle every single one down to the last bolt. Wouldn't most places prefer to sell an intact engine or transmission? That way they can make one lump sum, rather than the nickel and dime **** that never ends?
Used fan belts. WTF? I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.

I think my exposure to him at OCIC was enough for me. Tables loaded with electronic modules and other things. Nothing labeled, nothing tested, everything filthy. Camped out in the same hall where a hundred or so rather fastidious owners and their rather nice cars were gathered. And in that same space were a couple of the principal 928 vendors, one our host and the other having just endured a bunch of online disrespect that was just a hint of things to come. Changing locations every few months often means the rent isn't getting paid. Offering things cheap then backing away from the sale. Pictures of parts that weren't actually the ones for sale. "Reconditioning" coated pistons with a wire wheel, disappointed when they didn't sell for a fortune after all that work.
I've purchased a few used parts, and then from Jim & Mark. I generally buy new stuff when I can, particularly if it's a normal wear item. Looking at some of the WW stuff sitting at the OCIC, I had reason to believe that the used parts in my car were in MUCH better condition that anything on display there. The 'Got Milk?' show was entertaining for a short while, but hardly appropriate for the audience there IMHO. Just too many poor vibes for me, especially when we have the premier parts recirculator right here in the neighborhood.
Hopefully there's a lesson learned someplace near Philly.

He was a cool guy, one of the few that attempted to help me with my accident last year. I wish him the best. Though, I've never purchased parts from I always used Roger and 928Intl so I can't comment on that

I tried dealing with him, to reiterate Dr Bob the parts sent to me were in worse condition then the ones I was looking to replace. Only 2 parts made it on my car, a mirror glass and a turn signal combo switch that arrived with the tang for the horn busted off that I repaired.
He has the junk yard philosophy but you can't sell parts online like that. When I go to a junk yard, I take a part off and I decide based on what I see whether I want to buy it and for and how much. When you are trying to get your car fixed it just infuriates you when you wait a couple of weeks for a part to arrive and it is bad no matter what the price.
