Gents,
Belt tension light is coming on after 2 minutes every time the car is started up. I checked the belt tension and it was actully to tight. I adjusted the belt tension so that I know that it's correct. Warning light still comes on. Where do I begin looking for errors? I would really appreciate some advise here.
Cheers

First advice - every time that you ask for help, give the info on the car.
The warning system is triggered by a loss of ground (or earth, since you appear to utilize the Queen's English) in the tensioner. If there is a loss of continuity anywhere in the circuit from the warning computer to the switch inside the tensioner, the warning computer will give a belt tension warning after three minutes.
Possibilities include:
- Faulty connection in the little round connector on the belt cover behind the oil dipstick tube.
- Faulty connection in the spade connector just inside the belt cover.
- Broken strap on the tensioner arm.
- Failed spring on the tensioner push rod.
- Broken wire or faulty connection anywhere on the wire between the warning computer and the tensioner.
- Faulty Warning Computer.

Had the same warning - 2 minutes exactly everytime after start up on my '89 track car. Pulled things apart and found there were TWO breaks in the wires that were keeping the computer from finding "ground/earth". Fixed those and everything was fine (checked tension of course before re-assembling).
